Catch-up time

These school holidays, I thought I’d get soooo much crafting done, but I forgot how much time is spent doing catch-ups on other things…….like doctors, dentists, optometrists, cleaning,, school preparation,  sons and their visiting friends, our visiting friends…it’s felt like a revolving door has been installed here!!!!

I’ve finally made some time to catch up on some blocks I’ve got myself waaaay behind on Vicki’s ….Flirting with Flowers.  Here is my block “Flitting About” which is block number 5.

I decided not to add the ladybird’s spots as the fabric I chose had a lovely spotty pattern on it anyway….maybe this will change as I look at it further….what do you think???

I used my Cottage Garden Threads no. 202 for the stems for the first time on this block….they are lovely to stitch with.  I never realised they were already cut to the correct length for stitching!!!  Learn something new every day!  And the swirl at the bottom was done in Cosmo 106…it complements the petals beautifully, I think!

We are up to blocks 7 and 9, so still some way to go but they are in the process so hopefully I will have more to show you shortly *eek*…pressure’s on!!!!

Well, school’s back on Monday for us, so I reeeeeally must go and do some preparation.  Despite what may be said about teachers, we don’t just work from 9-3 (oh, wouldn’t that be nice!!!!)

Have a wonderful weekend with plenty of stitching time!  fingerscrossed

Sugary hugs

Wendy I just love the colours you have chosen to use for 'Flirting...', I vote you leave the dots off, the fabric dots are rather cute as is.
