Today has been a day of packing and parcelling and wrapping and tying…….there are lots of parcels on their way ALL around the place……birthdays (some very belated!!! *eek*) and swaps, prizes and just ‘hellos’……
The look on my local posty’s face was priceless when I unloaded a bag of parcels on her desk!!!!! Kept her busy for a little while, I tell you! hee hee But, she was very happy to do it…..I love our local post office staff!!! They’re always so helpful!
I can tell you one of the parcels is my pincushion for a pincushion swap that Maree organised (thanks Maree, it was fun!!!) ..needless to say I can’t tell you WHO it’s going to, but……… *wink* it may be you!!!!! Just hope you like Red, White and Blue!!!!!????
So if you’re waiting for a parcel from me, it’s on its way…….*smile*
I do hope you like what I’ve chosen for you!
I haven’t had a chance to catch up with my Bethlehem blocks since I showed you last but wow, they caused a rush of questions……
It is a gorgeous and fun stitchery and Natashia Curtin of Smee Designs has done a fabulous job at designing it. I’ve loved every minute of it….. So many people, from all over the world, emailed me to ask where they could get block 1 from as the magazine was no longer available…….so off I emailed to the magazine itself and here is the info if you’re interested…….
As you know, Block 1 was published in Homespun Vol 13 No 7 (July 2012) and I think that the most cost-effective and simple way to get that issue now is electronically through Zinio, especially for overseas readers for whom back copies are very expensive. Stitch-A-Longs are designed to be done in a limited time frame – they do not stay on the website indefinitely. Previously, we always deleted the old one when the next one began, but because the Bethlehem one has been so popular, we’ve allowed it to remain online a little longer than usual. It would be a good idea to download all the designs and instructions sooner rather than later.
The website is www.zinio.com and that issue is $3.50 AUD.
Great info and thanks Elizabeth for filling us in……good to know, if there’s a stitch-a-long or quilt-a-long in a magazine…..to grab it while you can!
Yesterday I was working on my new design….’Thank you”……and here’s another sneaky look…….
I was planning to have it finished today and ready to write the pattern tomorrow, but we all know what happens to good plans??….I discovered I have a meeting to go to soon so that threw that idea out the window!!!…..but I plan to have it ready for you over the weekend and then it will be available to purchase in my Craftsy store soon after….I can’t wait…..I really love this one!!!
Hope you’re getting lots done today and managing to fit a little stitchy time in too!

Well, I’ve been trying to get through everyone’s blogs tonight and I just can’t do it….so I’m going to apologise now, because I know you’re just itching to find out who were our winners this month.
before I do, I must say thank you to everyone for participating on Friday Night…..my Friday went all weekend and it’s been so motivating, knowing you were all sewing along with me….
To those first timers, I hope you had fun, got lots done and got to visit lots of our FNSI-ers….like I said, it is motivating and fun to have lots of people come to visit you to see what you’ve been up to too! I promise I’ll come and visit you all over the next month, but as we had 77 participants, I couldn’t fit it all in before the draw!!!
And because we got so close to 80, (and because it’s my first time foster-hosting FNSI) I’m going to draw 2 winners for this month!!! (thanks to my blogging fairy, Anthea for getting some prizes for me!!!….don’t forget to drop by her blog and say thanks!!??)
Well, here goes………..DRUMROLL……….
Congratulations Christine M from MacDonald’s Patch I sure hope you like pink!!!!! (The colour, not the singer….although the singer is pretty darn good too!!!! )
and Second Prize………
…wait for it…….
Cathy C from Cathy’s Sewing Room….congratulations…..I’m sure you had a little angel watching over you today and giving me a helping hand!!!! *wink*
I’m already looking forward to next month’s FNSI so don’t forget to sign up a week before. Just come back and visit and sign ups will be here. (But I won’t mind AT ALL if you come back before then…..again and again and…….!!!! hee hee)
And before I go……I just want to share with you a sneaky of a new design I’m releasing very soon…..just to whet your appetite!!!! …….
I hope you’ll love it as much as I do!!

Yes……I must admit…….I had all the plans and intention in the world in taking part in FNSI last night…….and hubby decided he’d take me out to dinner instead!
Who am I to say no?? We rarely get out these days, and later, as I was telling him I was supposed to be hosting FNSI, he apologised profusely and said I should have told him…….in the middle of eye fillet steak with scallop and prawn topper in a creamy garlicky seafood sauce???…..I don’t think so!!!! So once he was convinced you ladies could manage without me, we went for dessert at another cute little restaurant where we had chocolate lava puddings….mm mmmmmmm!!!! I never did get the chance to take a photo to share with you *burp*…..sorreeeeee!!!!!! Needless to say, it was just D-I-V-I-N-E!!!!!
Well, I thought I would do some catch up when I got home and promptly sat in my chair to stitch (at least!), got three stitches done and dropped off to sleep……must have something to do with a contented belly??!!
SO, instead I worked on it being Friday night somewhere in the world today and stitched to my heart’s content all day!!!! My plans were to work on putting together my Homespun “Long Time Ago In Bethlehem” SAL and that’s what I did….
I was thinking I might frame each block in a darker fabric before I sash so today it was cutting blocks to size and framing…..
A nice chocolate brown Moda Grunge Basics did the trick…..and I’ll follow up with the sashing I showed you yesterday….it will turn out slightly bigger but that’s ok…..some modifications will make it more personal don’t you think? In fact, the more I look at that Innkeeper, the more he reminds me of hubby!!!!! LOL Maybe I’ve personalised it a little tooooo much??? hee hee.
I’m off to see what others did in their timezones for FNSI…..why don’t you join me???
