FNSI and a winner!

How am I???…. it’s Monday night and I’m only just reporting on MY FNSI results……..goodness…..not much of a role model am I???

I must admit, this past week has been horrendous and with hubby  being at home all the time, I just can’t seem to keep to my normal routine! Plus, a new little toy arrived in the post for me on Friday and I just HAD to play…..

It’s not an expensive name-brand of tablet…..just a cheapie, but so far, it does everything I want in a tablet, and some, so I’m happy!

So here goes my last few days…….

Friday night……. I managed to get some hand stitching done…..catching up on a few hexies….

…and a little bit of Christmas stitching too using a design from the very talented Michelle Ridgeway……

and despite yearning for some chocolate, it was so hot I managed instead to ‘force’ myself to munch on a bowl of fresh icy cold mango and ice cream

(This picture was from tonight’s dessert……Friday’s went down waaay too fast to get a photo!!! )  I love this time of year when the mangoes ripen and it’s so easy to just go out to the backyard and pick some from the tree (as long as you beat the birds to them!!!!)

Saturday was spent at Guild where I did a workshop on making a stable bag, presented by one of our members…..I haven’t quite finished mine yet, but close to it….I just need to make the drawstring and the handles and attach the dowels through the rod pockets and it’s done!

012 (Medium)It’s hard to see what it’s like yet as without the support in it, it doesn’t stand very well but I’ll show you when it’s finished, hopefully next week, when I get to see her again.  Needless to say, I’m really happy with how it’s turning out……I’m loving the Tanya Whelan fabrics…very shabby chic!

Sunday was a quiet day….a little more hexi sewing but mostly just chilling with hubby after some cleaning/washing/gardening.caquilt14

Have you had a chance to go and visit our FNSI-innerers???  If not, you can go back to this post.   It was a great night with 49 of us participating and lots of fun and frivolity being had!

And now, it’s time to draw the winner of this gorgeous stack of fq’s…

003 (Medium)

and with the help of the wonderful Mr RNG, a winner has been drawn……

Congratulations to Peg! I know that I was able to get a mountain of things done.

Thanks again Wendy for hosting. I am going to have mango sorbet when I get home. It's not fresh since I am in Oregon, USA. Still tastes good.

Those tablets are such fun! Love all your projects, they're looking good :-)
So the birds help themselves to the mangoes up your way? Here it's the pesky fruit bats...who then poo indiscrimately on house walls and cars parked outside! But at least the scrub turkeys don't steal them! Lol

Your stable bag looks good - I'd never heard of one of those so I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of it finished.
Too cold here for ice cream - apple crumble and custard is more the ticket!
