New Toys

This week has flown by and Thursday saw me travelling to Townsville to go and see the specialist who operated on my FIL earlier this year and then go for scans to get the all-clear for upcoming surgery to remove his cancerous kidney.  Then we had to visit the haematologist as hubby has some ‘abnormal’ blood results which show infection ‘somewhere’ in his system…..seems all we do lately is visit doctors. So to wile away the time in between, I popped over to Spotlight with my 15% off voucher and bought me a treat….. IMG_4580 (1024x768) Seeing as I’ve been playing with hexies a bit lately, I thought this might make it much easier (and more accurate) to prepare my papers……and I couldn’t choose so I got all three……the X-Large punches out 1 inch hexies, the Large does 3/4 inch and the Medium, 1/2 inch…..hate to think how small the small one punches out???  Bit too fiddly for me.  I couldn’t wait to get home and have a ‘play’….. IMG_4581 (1024x768) I like to use the subscription cards that come in my mags…..they’re just the right weight for paper piecing….I can feel the edge when I’m joining the hexies. IMG_4582 (1024x768)  So much fun and sooooo much easier…..This is definitely one of those purchases that doesn’t make you feel guilty……Loving my new toys! Which leads me to think….what new hexi design can I come up with now? Sugary hugs xox  :o) my signature

Never been brave enough to try hexies but definitely wouldn't try the "small" .....

I have all three sizes as well...I only use the 1" one though as I don't like the smaller ones...I might use the second one down, but the smallest is like you said, way to fiddly for my taste...these are great tools and you can punch out a hundred of these in mere minutes...

Hope all the doctor visits end up with good results!! How about making a landscape out of the hexies?? That would be really cool!
