March finishes!

Last month, our guild was making mini quilts to donate to our local hospital for stillborn babies.  I managed to get this one finished and have a couple more on the go, but they’re not quite finished yet…. 103 (Medium) A simple design using 5 fabrics made quite a pretty quilt I gave you this sneaky peak in my last post with a promise of a reveal… 031 (Medium)   Well….here ‘tis….. 029 (Medium) This runner was made from a friendship block swap we had in our guild a couple of years ago and I’ve been promising myself I’d get to them ‘one day’….you know what I mean!!??  So I bit the bullet and put them together, sandwiched and quilted them and finished binding it on Wednesday.  It’s the same old story, you wonder why you put it off for so long because the ‘big job’ wasn’t so ‘big’ after all!!! Not quite sure what to call it….maybe “Around the Block” or even “A Round Tuit” !!!!!???  LOL This one’s going into my Christmas gift box, so it ticks two boxes, an OPAM finish and another gifty for Christmas Through the Year! bells-border-hth I’ve also managed to catch up on my February blocks in the Craftsy 2012 BOM.  I DO wish I’d read the instructions better though, as I did quite a bit of ‘reverse’ stitching!!! 008 (Medium) 011 (Medium) I’m pretty happy with them and I’m so glad I used LOTS of spray starch to keep the bias from stretching… It truly works wonders! I still have to share the photos from my trip with you but that will have to wait till tomorrow! Hope Sunday is a stitchy-kind-a-day for you Sugary hugs xo   :O) Signature

  11. Love the little quilt Wendy, what a lovely thing to do. Your runner is GORGEOUS - what a great design!!! The blocks are awesome, I love using Best Press instead of starch, it seems to work better at keeping the fabric from stretching - I don't even try to piece without it anymore.
