Hump day

"Hump Day" - nounNORTH AMERICANinformal
noun: hump day; plural noun: hump days
  1.    Wednesday, regarded as the the midpoint of a typical working week.

"it's hump day and perhaps the toughest day of the week for you"

tricks again.....blogger won't let me post in normal size font!!!! aaargh!    Please be patient.....the 'breathing' exercise is working to full capacity!

Maybe for some, but I love hump day.
Since the beginning of the year, Mr B has been working away from home during the week, on a cattle property and only comes home on the weekends, so we especially treasure the little time we have together.

We decided that, seeing as his work is about an hour west of us, on Wednesday afternoon, I would drive out to visit, we'd fill each other in on all that's been going on, enjoy a meal together and I'd stay till the next morning when he heads back into the yards, and I head off home.  Makes the time apart a little more bearable.

I haven't been for a few weeks due to a few things happening around here (which I WILL fill you in on later) and this morning really woke me up to the fact that I miss the Aussie bush - something I always took for granted.
We truly are blessed out here in rural Australia.  Here is what I woke up to this morning......

....a bright, clear, crisp sky with the glorious sun peeking its head up over the horizon.  It was a touch brisk, so I wore a light cardigan (another advantage to living in the tropical north of Queensland - our winters are P-E-R-F-E-C-T!).
Leaving for home about 6.30am I drove down the 'driveway'.  It must have taken me about 10 minutes more than usual as I couldn't help but stop for photos along the way....

A light fog, some happy cows, and scenery to die for......we truly are blessed to witness God's country in its entirety.   And if that isn't enough to be thankful for......

...the lagoon in all it's glory, hosting a pair of pelicans on the still, mirror-like waters.   I've been purposely taking time to 'breathe' lately, and this was just the perfect message to me....to stop and soak in the peacefulness of the country.  If you live in the city, this would definitely have to be a recommended health check....take time out to breathe in the country....there's nothing on earth like it.

I treasure my hump days.....can't wait for the next one.

...aaaaaand,we're back! May FNSI

Phew, it's been a frustrating couple of weeks but it looks like things may be returning to normal *touch wood*
I don't want to jinx myself but I'm hoping this household has finally turned the 'mayhem' corner and is zooming down the straight.
So....seems the NBN lines have settled during the day so I'm giving it a try a-g-a-i-n   (I tell you, I'm getting a little bit over trying to schedule a blog post and when I'm nearly finished, the whole lot drops out....tear your hair out stuff).
Back to it.....FNSI...

Here is what I got up to....
...I dabbled in a bit of everything on Friday night....a little bit of stitchery, some hexi swap fun and a bit of applique.    Didn't achieve much at all, but felt like a 'taster' of a few different things.  I'd been working full time last week, with the boss away, and I just couldn't settle so getting up and moving about with a few different things seemed to do the trick.

Have you been to visit our other ladies to see what they've been up to yet?  Pop back here and click on the links to go and see the gorgeousness that was created.

Now remember I said it was my birthday month this month....

......... and everyone who plays along gets a prize?
Ok.....here it is.....for all those FNSI'ers who joined in on Friday night this month, I will be sending you the pattern for this beauty......a reminder a very dear friend has told me on numerous occasions and one I have had to remember often this past few weeks!......
I designed this stitchery to remind me that it's more than just important, it's ESSENTIAL to slow down and b-r-e-a-t-h-e.

This past few weeks I've been caught holding my breath and just contemplating what a 'normal' life could be like.....I look at this stitchery, I think of my friend Jen, and I can hear her whisper in my ear...."slow down and breathe".  ...and I remember to stop and smell the roses, and life becomes easier, even if only for a while.

For those of you who didn't join in and now wish they had, don't worry.....breathe.......because I'll have the pattern up and available for purchase in my store tonight.  For only $3.50 USD you can stitch up your own version to suit your decor, or even one for a friend.  I've used the gorgeous Cottage Garden Variegated Threads for mine but if you can't get those, you could easily use any others.

I hope you like this one as much as I do...they're valuable words of wisdom from a dear friend to another.

FNSI on hold ....but hopefully the devils in the system will let me work tonight

Many apologies.....it seems the local work on the new NBN network is affecting our internet efficiency so I'm having extreme difficulties with getting things to work properly online.....time delays and wipes me out completely....very frustrating.

I haven't forgotten and I'm not MIA....will try again tonight....in the meantime...

seems to be the catchphrase!.....must take note I feel!
