Just need to give it a whirl through the washing machine now before I hang it up…..it’s a little bit dusty!!!!!!!!
Have a fantastic New Year Celebration…….keep safe and don’t forget to go here and leave a comment before midnight tonight for your chance to win a 12 month subscription to The Quilting Pattern Magazine.

Sew It’s Finished
Another year is almost over, and it’s the time for making resolutions…..not the “I must lose enough weight to turn into a supermodel” type resolutions, but ones you want to AND know you CAN stick to (with a bit of encouragement and support)….you know…the crafty ones!!!
But before you can do that, you really need to take stock of what you have to get finished….which is what Dawn and I have been talking about for the past couple of weeks.
We’ve discovered we are both the type to start projects, fully intent on getting them done…..until another one that JUST HAS to be made is begun!!!! Hence, a never-ending pile of UFO’s.
So we’ve made a pact and we would like you to come along and join us for the challenge……
The challenge is:
1 Make a list of all your UFO’s (and if you’re anything like me….this isn’t as easy as it sounds!!!!)
2 Prioritise them
3. Add them to your sidebar
What do you get out of it????
Encouragement and support from crafty like-minded people….and the satisfaction of knowing you’re getting things done!
How do you join in????
We thought the best way around it was to start a blog for those who want to join us. We have called it:
“Sew It’s Finished” 2011 UFO Challenge
So….if you leave a comment either here, or on Dawn’s blog, we’ll email you with the details. This is open to the first 100 people. More can join in, but you will only go on to a blog roll
and not be able to do posts on our new blog of your finishes.

A Flirty Finish and SSCS surprises
A Flirty Finish and SSCS surprises
Wow!!! didn’t Christmas bring a flurry of activity???
We weren’t sure whether to head for the hills, bring out the sandbags or start up the boat motor but luckily, none of the above were needed when Cyclone Tasha decided to make her appearance on Christmas morn, 400kms north of here! We’ve had rain ever since, which did put a bit of a dampener on our Christmas plans…..my brother couldn’t get here to celebrate with us however, he didn’t get stuck on the roads either, which was good news!
So….what does a girl do when she’s housebound over the Christmas break??????
Yep…you guessed it……QUILT!!!!!
And here’s what I finished….My Flirting with Flowers, just in time for the last OPAM for 2010…
Not the best photo….due to the cloudy, overcast weather but here’s some close ups…
and, seeing I had time to ‘play’, I figured out how to use my new machine and created my label for the back too!
I was tickled…!!!!!
My SSCS parcel arrived in plenty of time….which I can’t say for my poor partner! I sent my parcel in November and it still hasn’t arrived yet…….needless to say, it is going to Portugal where there have been storms and we’ve had the weather problems here, so hopefully it has just been delayed and it will be a welcome ‘bring in the New Year’ gift instead??!!!! Fingers Crossed!!!! So I can’t show you what I’ve made, but I can show you what I received…..
It didn’t take me long to rip this wrapping off to reveal…
these beautiful gifties from Kornelia
look at the detail and her beautiful stitching..
such perfect piecing…..look at those points!
and there was some yummy chocolate…what every girl needs to get her through the quilty process!!!!……And notice…….Ferrero Rocher’s overseas have 4…..yes FOUR in each pack, not 3 like here in Australia!!!!!! How rude!!!!! LOL Maybe they think we don’t need it as much! So thank you from the bottom of my quilty heart Kornelia….I truly Luuuuurv your surprises! And again, a huge thank you to Chookyblue for all the hard work she has put into making the SSCS happen this year!
And what’s next on the agenda???
I’ve started a new BOM for 2011 which I’ve linked on my sidebar if you’d like to check it out. It’s called Snow Hearts….written in German but thank goodness for Translator as you can pretty much interpret it…..(I knew I should have taken German at school!!!!!LOL)
I finished the first block yesterday….
Cottage Garden threads…..mmmmmmmm!
What have you been stitching on your holidays????
Big sugary hugs and may your bobbins be full in 2011

A Charlie Brown Christmas
A Charlie Brown Christmas
To all my blogging friends, who have brought me great joy, inspiration, happiness and friendship this past year….
….may love abound this Christmas, may your cup be filled to overflowing, may your bells keep ringing, food be plentiful, your stockings be full, may you be safe and well, laughter echo within your walls and all things good come to you and yours.
I thank you for all that you are and may you have a very Charlie Brown Christmas!
Sweet sugary hugs and Christmas blessings always
