Our February Winner, Compliments of Kitty Rose Cottage

I'm a little late drawing the winner today as I have been looking at and I'm in awe of all the beautiful work everyone has been posting, both here in Blogsville and in the FB world.  Having two areas now has certainly increased our numbers tenfold, but don't despair, bloggers are, and will always be, the foundation of FNSI and I love having you visit Sugarlane, (even though I've been a bit slack over the past couple of years with posting -apart from our monthly get-togethers).

I've been getting quite a bit of email pleading with me not to change FNSI to a totally FB format, saying it would be tragic for FNSI to move away. You see,  I've been hosting FNSI since 2017 (I think?), and we've built up a loyal group, stitching together over the years via the Blog and I just love what we have so I want to cherish and encourage it.  Blogging will always stay as the main home of FNSI  with the additional holiday venue of FNSI.FB aka Friday Night Sew In FaceBook.  Everyone will be able to pop onto the blog and link up to read what other bloggers have been up to and comment but will not be 'forced' into becoming bloggers.   All the main stuff will go on in this blog and the Facebook page will be for all, showing the highlights of everyone's Friday night.  Here on the blog is where the draws will take place, then they'll be announced over on the FB page, signups will be here, and reminders on the FB page.....do you see what I'm saying?

So please understand, the blog will be the mainstay of FNSI and if you choose to blog, you know where to come and everyone is ALWAYS welcome, but if you're definitely not into blogging, that's ok too...you can get the highlights and still join in on FNSI.FB.
Now, the prize this month provided by our lovely sponsor Kitty of Kitty Rose Cottage is just wonderful.

you can read all about it in the previous post HERE.

So let's see who our lucky winner is for February.......drumroll please........

Congratulations!!!!!   \o/ \o/ \o/ pop an email to me with your postal address and I'll have your prize sent to you direct from our fabulous sponsor, Kitty Rose from Kitty Rose Cottage.  A big thanks to Kitty!

Have a fabulous week and big sugary hugs :o) xox

Delayed FNSI

My sincerest apologies but this one was out of my control

Our regular monthly FNSI will be held NEXT Friday 23rd March due to the fact I have only just got my internet back on this very minute (well, within the last 3 minutes!).  I'll put the sign-ons up on Monday.
We have been without for nearly 4 weeks due to an NBN outage and after many calls to and fro with the provider, it was found to be a fault in the NBN fibre which has only just been fixed.

Our little rural/regional area has limited internet at the best of times and our house seems to sit on a 'black spot' of internet connectivity, so when the NBN isn't working, the household stops!  No internet means no phone, no Netflix, no blogging, and limited facebook and Instagram.....and Pinterest is out of the question!  It's a hellhole! (what DID we do pre-internet???)

Hubby was out talking to the guy fixing the connections and he said there were broken wires within the fibre but now they are all good and we should have no further problems  PLUS, the bonus.......our internet speed has doubled!!!  So blogging will be soo much easier from here on in!

Have a fab weekend.  I'm off to my son's and daughter-in-law to be's engagement party tonight!  They grow up way too fast don't they?
Can't wait to stitch with you next week!
xox sugary hugs :o)

Reunited, and it feels so good!

Well, as I said, changes are a-happening here!   I did tell you nine months ago, I was delving into the unknown and taking my love to WordPress, which was a HUGE learning curve for me.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s the best thing since sliced bread for some folk, but for me……naaaaaah!   Like any relationship, leaving is the easy bit,………the grass may be greener, but for me, it was definitely twice as hard to mow!

I tried and I tried and I succeeded in some parts, but it just didn’t ever come easily to me and my blog became my nightmare that I started to dread instead of look forward to…….’'
so like I said back HERE, it was only a trial separation…..but I discovered my true love was meant to be with Blogger!

I don’t feel defeated and I definitely don’t feel like a failure……after all, I’ll never regret not giving it a go…..but it just wasn’t for me!    Maybe because my heart and head was still with Blogger, maybe I’m just not meant to WP, but I gave it my best shot, a full year, and then decided I had to reunite with my first love before I lost him forever!

Only trouble is…..it’s not as easy moving back as it was leaving!!!!! hmmmmmm, no-one ever told me that before (but isn’t that what happens in any relationship?)

So I've employed a wonderful liaison/mediator (techy-man)  to sort things out between us, and things are getting there…..slowly……there’s much rebuilding to be done and it’s all gently, gently for the moment, but I’m sure it won’t be too long before our hearts are strongly bonded again.

You’ll notice that my blog posts are missing from last year…..they have to be manually moved over, so that will take some time……the removalist has been organised and it’s just fitting it into the schedule.

You will notice some changes over the next little while…..new sidebars, new headers, new styles……but the good old comfy slippers are on again….I’m back home!
My address is still www.sugarlane-designs.com, so feel free to add me to your reading lists or sidebars so you can come visit often.  Don’t feel like the relationship has been severed and you have to choose sides…..we’re all friends again, Blogger, WordPress and me,  I promise!

It’s just so nice to be home......we're reunited, and it feels so good!  Watch this space tomorrow for FNSI sign ups…..yep, it’s that time again!  Lock it in, Eddy!

xox Sugary hugs  :o)
