A St Patrick's Day FNSI winner

Well it didn't seem to be such a bad turnout on Friday night after all.....thank you so much for all my well wishes.....my virus seems to be a lot better after a few long sleeps and cold and flu drugs (and the good ol' eucalyptus oil).

We had 28 friends virtually stitching together, in complete home comforts, all over the world....don't you just love blogging?  Whatever did we do before the internet?

Here is what I managed to get done...

I started with a hexi for our craft groups hexi swap.  I'm loving the colour and don't really want to give it away.  Might have to make another!

I finished the last little touches of one of my gifts from our Let's Get Stitched weekend, kindly donated by the lovely Nikki Tervo of Brandy Gully Patterns....isn't he cute done up in Cottage Garden 'Mistletoe' threads?  I think I'll either frame him, using a technique shown on my friend Jen's blog or into a lovely little bag that we also received a pattern for on the weekend. (just luuuuuv stitching retreats!)
I then had a little mini project in mind, to make a very simple hexie needlebook, which I'm thinking of doing a tutorial for.....what do you think?  It's a sweet little design that doesn't take long to make, I had it finished in a night (another for my OPAM list) so would be a great last minute gift idea for a stitching friend.

Then as the night drew to a close, I managed a few stitches on another Nikki Tervo Design, which is always on standby.  I'm loving the colours and the tranquility these blocks give me.
Did I tell you my FNSI started early on Friday?  (if you were wondering how I got so much done....I guess you could say I cheated! ;o) )
So, that's my FNSI and what happened at Sugarlane.  Have you had a chance to see my other 27 friend's projects they were working on on Friday night?  Always an inspiration, so I recommend popping by for a look.
And I haven't forgotten....Friday was St Patrick's Day, a day of celebrations of the foremost patron saint of Ireland, and I promised our prize would be green in recognition.
Maybe not the actual patron saint, but who doesn't love little birdies, along with some gorgeous green fat quarters?
Without further ado....Mr RNG has been patiently waiting for his special moment and he's spun his lucky random number generator and come up with number.......

Yaaaaay....congratulations

Melanie's one of my friends I spent time with in Adelaide at Let's Get Stitched. (I promise, Mr RNG is totally unbiased)  and she's been too busy working and not spending enough time on 'fun' stitching. A great welcome back Melanie!

Talking about work, I must head off.  The boss will be standing at the door tapping her watch!

May the luck of the Irish be with you all year around.

xox sugary hugs :o)

Happy St Patrick's Day FNSI link is up

Happy St Patrick's Day to you all.  So sorry I'm late but what with being away at Let's Get Stitched weekend in Adelaide and having a virus that likes to cling like glue....I'd forgotten today was the day till this morning!

So, here we go....it may be a small gathering tonight but a gathering it will be.   The link is below.....if you'd like, share it online so we can try to get it going (duh me!)

There WILL be a prize nonetheless.

I'm off to snort some eucalyptus oil.....might clear this foggy head of mine!

xox Sugary hugs :o)

FNWF with an uninvited guest

I'm a little late with my Friday Night With Friends post, but I had an unwelcome visitor arrive and it sure did knock me about *cough cough* (Yep you know what I mean)

I started getting a sore throat Friday, which got worse Friday night.  Saturday I was exhausted at work and could feel my ears and throat starting to hurt and by Sunday I was bedridden for the day.  Not great to have unwelcome 'guests', especially seeing as I fly out to Adelaide for our annual Let's Get Stitched 2017 get-together on Tuesday!  But thank goodness for cold and flu tablets......I'm feeling much better already!
I did manage to get a little done on Friday Night.....

a little pouch for someone special whose favourite colours are purple and green.  Think I've hit the nail on the head?

Have you had a chance to go and see what the others got up to?  Pop back to Chez's post to see.....and thanks Chez for another wonderful night spent with 'welcome' friends!
