September Friday Night Sew In Sign-Ups

Yes, it's time again!

FRIDAY NIGHT SEW IN......aka FNSI

This month, seeing as it's Autumn for our Northern hemisphere friends and Spring here for us, and things are a-changing on the weather front, I have chosen a cute little fellow as our prize this month...
Isn't he adorable?   Maybe longstitch is something you've wanted to try and just 'never got around to it'? (We all know that feeling don't we?) This kit provides everything you need to sample the art of longstitch, needle included!
Make sure you're in the draw by linking up below and joining in for a fun-filled virtual night-in, full of chocolate, wine (?) and stitching, this Friday night.   Make sure you share with your friends, as we all know it's so much more fun when you stitch with friends.

February FNWF Finish and a reminder

Last night was our Friday Night get-together with our ‘virtual’ friends over at Cheryll’s place and I must admit, I started pretty early.  My plan this week was to finish the Christmas Blessings quilt so I could post it away and I was doing well, until I had to practice some ‘reverse stitching’ due to some hasty and somewhat cocky progress. (happens to all of us, doesn’t it?)

So Friday morning was sandwiching, pinning and quilting and I got to sewing the binding on just after lunch.

IMG_5505 - Copy1

It’s always so satisfying sewing that last bit of binding down, don’t you think?  Always gives me a real sense of achievement (now why then, can’t I apply this ‘knowledge’ to my huge long list of UFOs I wonder?)

IMG_5512 - Copy

This was also my January challenge on my list for the APQ 2015 UFO Challenge I mentioned in this post  so I can tick this one off  …. even if it was a week overdue, AND add it to my OPAM list for Jan/Feb!  Double whammy!

It is now in the safe hands of Australia Post, winging its way to  Natalie at The Birdhouse to live its life out as a shop sample.  I’ve had a few people interested in purchasing the pattern.  I suggest you Google ‘Christmas Blessings by Natalie Bird’, and you will get a few stores who stock them, then you can choose where you’d like to purchase it from. The ones I have seen are all really reputable and wonderful to purchase from (and yes, I have had experience with them all – shhhhh,  don’t tell hubby!)

I then went on to stitching up some more of this gorgeous design of Jenny’s for her Stitchery Club Swap.

A little more to go and then I can make it into something I hope someone will love!

So that’s what I got up to…..come with me and visit all my friends and see what they got up to last night.  Thanks Cheryll….it’s always terrific fun spending Friday nights with you. *mwah*

And before I forget, drop back here and leave me a comment and you’ll be entered into the draw to win two of my patterns in the Grow Your Blog 2015 Blog Hop.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Big sugary hugs xox   :o)

Birthday-Love Stashing

How are you going with your Birthday-Love Stashing???  I was having a chat with my good bloggy friend Anthea who pointed out to me that we didn’t have too many people linked in for this month’s draw…….she thought maybe not too many people knew about it (which is reeeeally good for her and those already entered, because there’s not too many to win this month’s prize!!!!) So I’ve put up the original post, explaining the Birthday-Love Stash, how it came about and what you need to do to enter, on a tab at the top of my blog.  Pop up there and take a look if you’re unfamiliar.  It’s good fun and you get your stash of birthday gifts ready for the year, on time or even early…..and you could even win a prize or two!!! I’ve also added a link to take you to Mr Linky so that you can enter easily on my sidebar…..just find the Birthday-Love Stash button on the right, click on it and it will take you there! I hope this clarifies things and makes it easier…..we have a few regulars but we would really love to see you join us, getting yourself organised, each month. (well, at least trying to get organised, like the rest of us!!!) birthday love stash button I must confess, I have been a bit slack and  have not been posting some gifty links……my only excuse is my dreaded forgetfulness!!!! ….I’m so sorry!!!    Here are some goodies I found this month…..it’s not too late to start!!! *wink* Melody often has links to gorgeous free patterns and this table topper is no exception.  You can find the link to the pattern on Melody’s blog HERE If you have a phone-crazy friend or relative (generally a teen, but I know I’ve been told to put my phone away on MORE than one occasion!!!!  *eek*), this might just be the thing for you to make…. (Might even give them the hint!!!??? lol)….. Head on over to Sarah to find out how. And if you’re a crocheter…..you might want to check out the Piper’s gals for the pattern to make this sweet hat for a special girlfriend… Garden Girl Hats How cute is this little fella????  So?  What’s stopping you making one for a friend????   Pop on over to Sarah for the free pattern. There’s some to get you started anyway. Looking forward to seeing you at the Birthday-Love Stash draw!  Don’t forget to link in!!!! Sugary hugs xox :O) my signature

Paying it Forward.

I was thrilled, last year, to have been chosen by Sue to be part of the PIF (Pay It Forward) fun. The idea of “Small miracles inspiring living everyday” really appealed to me because the blogging community is such a generous bunch,  this gave me a chance to ‘give back’ some of the love I receive from blogging every day! 1605payitforward Well, this week I received my parcel from Sue (aka SuperMom, No Cape), and very unexpected it was.  In fact, I’d forgotten about it and I was so excited to pick up a parcel from the Post Office without actually knowing what was inside or why I was receiving it!!! 018 (Medium)019 (Medium) I tore open the packet as soon as I got home and I was so excited to find these beauties all packed snuggly inside……..027 (Medium) 028 (Medium) 026 (Medium) there is a sewing companion with a gorgeous little pair of embroidery scissors, a beautiful redworked pincushion, a lined sewing bag with a bound pocket that matches the set and a sweet little pastel fat quarter…….what a surprise!!!….and even more of a surprise, when I turned the pincushion over, the fabric she used matched the rest of the set too!……how clever is Sue??!!! 020 (Medium)021 (Medium)022 (Medium)024 (Medium) I don’t know how you knew, Sue……red is my all time favourite colour and I adore paisley, so I couldn’t have chosen better myself!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I love EVERYTHING!!!!! And now it’s my turn to Pay It Forward….. How does it work?
  1. I will make a little something for 3 people who opt in to participate in Pay It Forward. International are welcome to join in.
  2. I will choose those 3 people with the help of Mr RNG in 24 hours, so at 8am tomorrow morning, August 30 AEST.
  3. It will be a surprise and it will arrive when you least expect it….well almost. I’m bound to need to contact you for your address :) , but I WILL leave you hanging!!!! hee hee
  4. I will have 365 days to do it in.
  5. To get a handmade present from me, you have to play too! This means YOU pledge to send a little handmade something to 3 readers of your blog.
  6. It doesn’t have to be quilty – just handmade.
  7. You must have a blog.
  8. Once you receive your “little something”, you must post about your Pay it Forward on your blog to keep the fun going – be sure to use the Pay It Forward badge…and please only opt in of you can commit to keeping it going :)
Fingers crossed and good luck! Sugary Hugs  :O) xox Signature
