Quilt show exposed!

I’ve been telling you all about our quilt show that was held over the weekend and how much of a success it was, but unfortunately, most of you couldn’t be there!!!!  Sad smile  However, with the power of modern technology…….drumroll please……. dddddrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…….  taa daaaaaah!!!!! I am here to present……the 2011 Biennial Burdekin Patchwork and Quilters Quilt Show………!!!!! I hope you enjoy it…….all work was completed by the members of our Guild over the past two years and believe me…..some of them took that long, they were so intricate!!!! The blue quilt behind three of our lovely members in the main photo is our raffle quilt for this year which is drawn this Saturday…..I wish I had $1 for every person that said they’d redecorate their homes to have it fit into their bedrooms!!!!! There was a memorial display for one of our members that passed away this year…her work brought back many fond memories. We also had a challenge corner where we had to use a ‘challenge’ fabric to create something no smaller than A3 size and no bigger than 36” square. Now, sit down with a cuppa and spend some time enjoying the show…….I must say I feel very proud and I love sharing it with you! Did you find my things in there???  I had six items.  I wonder if you know which ones they are?? hehehe Ps……a little birdie has told me (namely my friend called ‘Outlook’) that it’s this person’s birthday tomorrow……don’t forget to pop on over here and wish her a very, very happy day!!!   Let’s bombard her with lovely birthday wishes to make her feel all snuggly and warm! (tee hee) sugary hugs always Wendy :0)

Home at last with my Raggedy!

These past two weeks have been mayhem around here without my laptop, but he was delivered safe and sound today!  Woohoo…..now I can show you my goodies! I DID finish this little beauty brought to you by Kaaren J at The Painted Quilt a couple of weeks ago, just before the ‘crash’! 025026 027 033 Some beautiful feather quilting really brings out the quilt’s beauty, don’t you think? 028 029 030 The custom quilting was done by a lady in our Quilting Guild, Annette of Triple One Quilting…it was just perfect and showed Kaaren’s design to a ‘T’! 032 I pieced the back in real earthy colours…..I just love it and it really shows up the quilting too! 031 It sat comfortably on the piano stool before the quilt show last weekend… 034 and now it lives on the back of the lounge….but I haven’t got to take a photo of that yet!!!!….soon, I promise! I have so much to catch up on….just thought I’d give you a little bit…tomorrow, I’ll let you have a peek at our quilt show….which was held over the weekend and was a great success. Thanks everyone for keeping in touch and letting me know I wasn’t forgotten, although I felt I was in a faraway country that didn’t have access to the internet!!! Sugary Hugs always Wendy :0) XXX

Not happy, Jan!

Just a quickie to tell you I’m missing you all! My ‘puter is on holidays at the doctor and I’ve been hanging out for his return.  I’m using a ‘tablet’ hubby bought just before it ‘died’ and the screen’s so small, and all my ‘stuff’ is on the old one.  (A good advertisement for backing up your computer!!) So, I can’t show you anything but I can tell you my Raggedy Friends is finished, a ‘Challenge’ quilt for our quilt show is finished, we had great fun at the Townsville Craft Fair and our local quilt show is on this coming weekend!  I had a lovely visit with Jenny and Bloss yesterday …..shorter than I would have liked because the roadworks ((from Cylone Yasi)  from Townsville to Charters Towers are in full swing and it was stop start all the way! I will definitely have lots to catch up on when the big boy is back! take care and sugary hugs Wendy :0)
