Dyeing with anticipation….

I went for another visit to the Stitches and Craft Fair today and learnt it is to be our last up here in the north (boohoo!!!)  A friend and I had booked in to do the fabric dyeing workshop with Cecile at Unique Stitching ……. I just couldn’t resist after creating such lovely fabric colours last time……so this is what I’ve made this time….. Can’t wait to wash them out tomorrow to see what gorgeous colours come out of these concoctions!!!!  So much fun but the anticipation is killing me!!!!! Sugary hugs xox :o)

I just couldn’t resist after creating such lovely fabric colours last time……so this is what I’ve made this time…..

Can’t wait to wash them out tomorrow to see what gorgeous colours come out of these concoctions!!!!  So much fun but the anticipation is killing me!!!!!

A day well spent

…is a day spent with the bestest of girlfriends, one you can chat with, laugh with, share with, cry with…..and that was how I spent today! I met up with Jenny and we headed off HERE for a day of inspiration and girly banter…..and didn’t we have just the best of fun!?! We weren’t allowed to take many photos, but we did ask and we were able to take some…. Aren’t they just gorgeous??? The guest for the show was Judy Coates Perez, and although I’m not a real ‘art-quilty’ person……her work is A-MAZING!!!!  Photos just don’t do it justice….. quilted in metallic threads and highlighted in glittered paint, and her  painted designs just blew us away….  yes the design is all painted!!! This little birdy just knocked our socks off too…….the design, again was all painted and then machine quilted…….such an impeccable design……we were looking at all the hidden features within the quilting for ages….. And despite there not being as many stall holders as last year, they didn’t do too badly out of us……. My stash included some no 12 perles….. (just a few!!!) …some fabrics for the stash…..(yes I DO need them!!!) …and lots of other ‘necessary’ items, including a lace dyeing kit…. Seeing I loved the fabric dyeing so much, Jen and I are both going to have a go at dyeing lace….a different method, but simple just the same….can’t wait to add these to some upcoming designs. How’s your B-L Stash coming along?

Remember tomorrow is the draw for the Birthday-Love Stash……how is yours coming along???  I’ve been working on these deep-dish pincushions and getting them finished…… but other than that, all that’s been happening at my place has been LOADS of de-cluttering…..and it feels good! I’m missing my sewing, and I’ve got a couple of blocks in the Aiming for Accuracy Quilt-A-Long to catch up on, but I’ll get there, little by little….I’m off to cut block 13 out now and then stitch it tomorrow night….well, that’s the plan anyway.   I’m finding it easier to think a little more clearly now that the area I work in isn’t so messy…..do you find that too???  It’s even nice to sit down at my desk now…..Love that feeling!!!!  And I’ve even given myself permission to not expect it all to be done…….YESTERDAY!!!!….and you know what??   It get’s done faster that way!  It’s wonderful!
