October FNSI sign ups and a September Winner

So sorry about the delay in drawing last month's winner!

This year is certainly getting away from me as it is for most I guess, but especially seeing as I have my very first grandbaby due very VERY soon and the prep for that has been enormous!  My poor daughter in law has been soooo sick for almost the entire pregnancy and spent many a day in hospital on drips and in doctors surgeries so this little cherub might (understandably) be the only one they have.

For that reason, I've been making the most adorable baby quilt I could....it's called Duck Duck Goose, created by Meags & Me using the beautiful Blue Goose fabric range by Clothworks.  I am just so in love with this range.  And I guess by now you've realised, our bubba is a little boy!  *squeee*....I just can't wait!

Here is my version so far.....

Well, it's actually a little further along than this...all the hand-stitching is complete and the backing has been made and it's ready to sandwich and quilt!  It is a large one......56" x 62" and as you can see, it's laying across our queen sized bed and it goes all the way across!  fI think it will do our little man for quite a while!
Last month I also completed all the stitching elements for Block One of Gail Pan's "Wish You Well" BOM, which I didn't get around to showing you.
This is now in the 'wait' pile until that baby quilt is done!  Only six weeks till he's born so that's first on the list!
What have you got planned for this Friday Night's Stitch In?  Hopefully I'll be on the Sweet 16 having a practice run.  Make sure you sign in or pop on by , either below or in our FNSI facebook group.  You're more than welcome to join our group if you're not already a member.
It's always fun to play with others....especially when there's a prize to be won!  (thanks to the gorgeous Kitty Rose!)  Don't forget to pop by and see what lovelies she has in her shop...there's a lovely new BOM designed by Dawn and it.is.the. BOM!

Now it's finally  catch-up time, from last month's Stitch In......who is our lucky September FNSI winner?

CONGRATULATIONS Jeanette!!!  I'm sure our wonderful sponsor, Kitty Rose Cottage, has something beautiful to send you in the mail!  Thank you to all who joined in.....it makes our lockdowns so much more enjoyable when you know you can still join up with friends doing what you love best!

In the meantime, remember to join us by linking in below or joining in with our Facebook Group.  We'd love to see you there.

FNSI fun and a November winner

Friday night came and went so quickly....as I've said, I have been soooo tired with work taking all of my time, so Friday night didn't see much happening....but I did get a little done for FNSI.....

I managed a little stitching for some Christmas gifts and finished some up over the weekend.

I'd bought the latest issue of Leanne Beasley's 'Vignette' from Janeene at Fabric Patch so I started the night by thumbing through it whilst I nibbled on some goodies and drank a lovely drop of.......decaf!

Janeene  tucked in this cute little Gail Pan design so I thought I'd stitch it up in a few of my favourite Cottage Garden Threads
I'll make these up into four cute little pincushions to pop in with some Christmas presents.  They're such fun to stitch.

Have you popped back to link to the other ladies that joined in on Friday night to see what they got up to?  There are some beautiful creations, I'm still visiting and plan to see them all this week.

Are you wondering who our winner is for November's FNSI?  The person who is going to win this pack of Big Love?
If you are one of the 30 who joined in on Friday night, you've got a good chance........
drumroll please.............

winner is..............

CONGRATULATIONS
Val Spiers

I love your "I love my Cat Quilt"......and I'm sure you'll be able to add the lovin' mice to the menagerie!  Send me your postal details in an email and I'll get it into the mail for you.

Thanks everyone for joining in this month.....next month is not that far away and FNSI for December is (obviously?!?) the last for 2016 so I'd love to see you join us.  Pop the date in your diaries so you don't forget........FNSI for December is on the 17th......one week and one day before the big man heads off on his V.I.Deliveries.  I think I'm on the nice list????? *fingers crossed*   Are you?

xox sugary hugs :o)

Another great Monday with Friends and BLS forgetfulness!!!!!

I love my Mondays, when I can gather together with great friends and share gorgeous stitching, wonderful food, lots of laughs and girl talk Michelle was our host yesterday and whilst travelling to her place, I encountered a bit of stormy weather! 010 (Medium) but it was definitely worth it to share time with my crafty buddies….. Michelle  finished stitching the binding on her gorgeous bubba quilt she has been working on to send to a relative’s new little boy in England 024 (Medium)026 (Medium)027 (Medium)       028 (Medium) How cute is that little teddy with his ribbon necktie???? and Barb came along too….she was working on this gorgeous Gail Pan design…aren’t those little birdies just beautiful????  and I love the variegated blue thread….Cottage Garden….can’t remember what she called it but it’s on my search and find list!!!!  030 (Medium) Heather was working on this sweet kitty design…… 031 (Medium) and I kept working on my Smee Designs ‘The Street” Block 032 (Medium) Can’t show you what Jen got up to…..it’s secret squirrel stuff…..but I can tell you she’s been working on a brilliant new design which I just know you’re going to love….we oohed and aahed over it yesterday and were just in awe over how she drew up the designs in front of our very eyes!!!!   I can tell you though you’ll need to watch THIS SPACE so you can find out what she’s been up to…..truly…..you won’t want to miss this one!!!!! And it wouldn’t be a stitchy Monday without some specatular food…… 019 (Medium) Michelle whipped up some absolutely delicious tuna patties with homemade chilli sauce and the most amazing trifle….. 020 (Medium) we all went back for seconds….and thirds!!!!!!!  I think Michelle’s onto a winner with this one! And before long, the day was over……Jen had to leave early as Miss Blossom was sick with the flu and needed some ‘get me better’ supplies….it was sad to see her leave so soon…… If you can, make sure you take time to spend crafty time with the best of girl-friends…….it really is good for the soul!!!!!  (and if you can’t……blog and stitch with us all ‘virtually’ !!!!! – it’s nearly as good!) xox Sugary hugs, :o) my signature *****OOOOH  just realised….I haven’t drawn the Birthday Love Stash…EEEEEK!!!!!!   Was so busy getting ready for our weekend away at LGS that I forgot!!! FNWF and could you be converted!

Like all of my Friday night sewing sessions, this one also followed on into bits of Saturday and Sunday….whenever I could fit it in…. I started this on Friday…. 008 (Medium) ……and finished it today….. 004 (Medium)007 (Medium)009 (Medium) Just so pretty in pink!  I think I may have to make some more in other colours!!!!!    …I love this design and yes, it is one by Gail Pan  ( a great Aussie designer) which is featured in a new Martingale/The Pattern Place book called  ‘Sew Gifts’.  (Congrat’s Gail….woohooooo!) Martingale - Sew Gifts! (Print version + eBook bundle) So many more great projects I’m going to have to save up and make for other FNWF nights!!!!  Thanks Cheryll for another great Friday Night With Friends…..why not pop on over and see what the other girls got up to? Design H_ I don’t know about you, but I found I was buying far too many ‘physical’ books….. and running out of room faster than you can say ‘Lickety stitch’.  Once I found Martingale’s site, I registered for their newsletter every week, and they tell me when they have their books on sale.  I have been buying e-books for quite a while now, as opposed to the hard copy ones.  Sometimes (most times) it is $6 an e-book on sale…….and they hardly take any space at all!  Now that USB memory sticks are so cheap, I have a different one for different things……one for my Martingale/Patchwork Place books…….an 8GB stick and, yes, I confess, I am a book hoarder…but noone would know…..dare i say it…….I have 100 books on that stick (eek!) and it’s only half full!!!!!  010 (Medium) I have one smaller one that I save all my subscribed e-mags to and other ones for backups so I don’t lose my saved patterns and tutorials on my computer (and my computer then doesn’t run so slow!!!!)  So many advantages to e-books! 011 (Medium) I keep them nearby, hanging on my cupboard door handle on lanyards.   I can use them on my computer, on my laptop in the sewing room, in my e-reader in bed, or even take them to a friend’s place…I can print out the whole book if I want, and bind it, but because they’re so portable and easy to access in the stick form, and take hardly any room, I generally just browse the patterns I want and print those pages out only… 012 (Medium) Then I stash them in a folder if I like the pattern or just use it for scrap paper….I can always print it again!!!!  So handy!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love reading through a craft book or magazine whilst lounging on the chair, sipping a coffee or three, (after all, I was a librarian in a former life!!!) but If you’ve never thought of e-books before, try it, it’s life changing!! – I’m living proof! Are you a convert too??? Sugary hugs xox :o) my signature
