Never forgotten

DSCF1691 It was 21 years today that Mum passed away to cancer. She was only 63 years of age.   A wonderful, warm woman, who was always there for my brothers and I.  She was very crafty, in that she was an incredible knitter who dabbled in all sorts of handcrafts….probably my greatest subliminal inspiration, although I never realised it then.  She made us jumpers, socks and gloves every winter…even teaching one of my brothers how to knit!  She tried to teach me, but being the only ‘lefty’ in the family made me a trifle more difficult!!!   I couldn’t hold the needles properly…. I gave it away for sewing!   She could knit, watch tv and hold a full-on conversation with you, without missing a stitch! She was expert in embroidery, creating many beautiful works….I can remember her crinoline dolls on doilies and days of the week tea towels, which I have safely tucked away.  In her later years, she tried tatting too…and now that I’m mid 40’s, I realise what a challenge this would have been!  Mum began wearing glasses in her 20’s….I’ve only just started wearing them in the last year or so and I can’t imagine trying tatting!!!!! I sooooo miss you Mum, especially at my wedding, and when Nick was born…but I know you were there watching…..and smiling!   I hope I’m doing you proud and I love you sooo, sooo much and always will. DSCF1694 You’re never forgotten Mum…..I LOVE YOU.   Rest in Peace. DSCF1692 Never forget to tell those that you love, how much you love them, EVERY day! XX Sugary hugs Wendy :O)
