Double Giveaway

What a busy week!!!  ….I’ve been getting all sorts of links ready for our Birdcage Challenge and will post them in the next post (as this one will be toooo long!) and I’ve been looking out for wonderful prizes for my 1st Blogiversary, which is in 8 days!!

image

Can you believe it??? I can’t believe 1 year has gone so  quickly.  In such a short time I’ve made many wonderful friends both in Oz and in the US, Canada and around the globe and I’m LOVING it!

I thought with Spring in the air in Australia, and autumn bringing the cooler weather to our Northern Hemisphere neighbours, I thought I’d have a double giveaway…..one for those in America and Canada (to warm them up on those upcoming cooler nights) and one for my Australian and other friends, to get us in the mood for summer!!…..so here goes………..

Firstly, for my American and Canadian visitors, I’m finding it hard to imagine your winters, as ours is rarely below 20 degrees C. here in Northern Queensland, but I figure something warm and yummy to keep up your sustenance to carry on quilting, despite frostbitten fingers and toes wouldn’t go astray???   No, I’m not offering to cook for you, nor am I sending you take-out!, BUT……I do have a  $40 voucher for you to spend on any Le Creuset  cookware you like from CSN stores…..like this -

5-Quart%20Oval%20French%20Oven%20Gift%20Set%20in%20Cobalt

or this……

6-Piece Expanded Cookware Set in Cherry

or maybe a nice warm cup of ‘toddy’ from this……

22-Ounce Small Teapot with Infuser in Cherry

For my Aussie mates, I thought maybe a nice lot of goodies, with some very ‘spring-y’, perhaps bordering on ‘summer-y’ related ones….

007

A ‘Play Date’ dessert roll by Thimbleberries, coordinating sky blue ribbon, a ‘Bees and Beetles’ Stitchery and a Little Teddy Swag stitchery, ‘Strawberries and Cream’ Quilt—as-you-go DVD, a little rose-scented teddybear keyring and some luxury rose-scented hand creams.

Now, who could resist those????  And all you have to do is leave me a comment, telling me what you like best about Winter (if you’re from the US or Canada) or what you like best in Spring, if you’re from anywhere else.

I’ll draw it on my blogiversary, in 8 days….that makes it Monday September 13th so get typing!  Entries will close at 6pm AEST on that day and I will post the winner after that!  Good luck to all of you and thank you for making my first year of blogging such a positive and wonderful one!

Happy first anniversary Wendy and I love reading your blog.
Even so it is always green all year around here in Brisbane, I love when my tropical birch tree comes to life after being bare over winter. It reminds me of Germany after winter because that is where I was born.
Thank you for the giveaways they are wonderful
happy stitching

Happy Anniversary! I live in the mid west in canada. Once the temperature with the wind factored in was -63C. Brrrrr. So what do I love the most of my long winter coming? Meeting up with my quilting friends at the guild meeting and sharing a hot cup of coffee while we chat about how cold it is. Winter gives us inside time to work on projects that we dream of all summer

I am a true blue child of Winter. I was born at the end of January on one of the coldest nights of the year in one of the coldest cities in Canada. I love the cold! We are just finishing up summer here and it's dreadful to say but it can't go fast enough for me. Winter is wonderful because you can be cozy and comfortable inside and you can bundle up and enjoy the great outdoors without heat and humidity.
That adorable red teapot you've shown would brew the perfect cuppa for a winters day.

It's been a year!!!????!! Congratulations dear Wendy!!! Although I have to admit, I thought it had been longer ... it feels like we've been bloggy buddies for soooo long ;o)!!!
Hmmm, so what do I like most about Spring ... is it the lovely balmy nights, the warmer days, the holidays with family, the new buds and growth in the garden ... maybe the gawjus Wattle blooming in the bush over the fence??? I don't know if there's just one thing I love about Spring ........ but I certainly welcome the end of chilly old Winter!!!
Love n hugs,
Joy :o)

Happy Blogaversary Wendy! I enjoy the change of weather in Spring. Not too hot or cold....generally. Although with the rain we have had lately, it is being so very changeable, shorts one day, jeans the next. But who's complaining, the rain is fantastic too! Love your prize!

Hi Wendy
Another Queenslander here.

Congratulations on your blogaversary. The crafting community worldwide is such a supportive and and wonderfully creative group - lots of inspiration.

Ah Spring... I love seeing all the new buds and flowers of Spring. When the wattles in our area start to bloom, I know Spring is on the way.

It's lovely to be outside and not too hot (or cold). As Goldilocks said... just right!

Thanks for your generosity in inviting us to join in your celebrations.

Congratulations on your blogiversary! i just found your blog from a comment you left over at Quilted Fish (I never read comments myself so that's why it's so unusual that I landed here!). I'd love to be entered in your giveaway for the CSN voucher. My favorite thing about winter is just getting to stay inside where it's cozy by the fire and quilting away! Last winter we had TONS of snow so there was a lot of staying inside! Thanks so much!

Happy Blogaversary! I'm in the US and just found your blog. I envy you with your 20C temperatures in winter. Here in the upper midwest, it *often* gets below 0F (-17C), which is apparently the highest temperature your freezer should be set at. So, just imagine hanging out in a walk-in freezer for prolonged periods of time and you just about have it. And that doesn't include the wind chill factor... I guess what I like best is dressing for winter, because I don't like to wear shorts and in the summer, everyone looks at me funny when it's over 30 degrees celsius and I'm wearing jeans and a long-sleeved shirt... Thanks for the giveaways!

Congratulations on your first year of blogging sweetie, gosh I can't believe it has been a year already?!! Spring? Faves? Ooh - it means different things in England and Australia. In England it is so bleak and grey during Winter and there is little greenery - so Spring brings with it excitement, hope, and the understanding that the dark days will get shorter. Buds, Blossoms, a stillness in the air! The smell of freshly-cut grass that has lain dormant all winter! In Australia it means experiencing what would-be-a-day-in-the-middle-of-an-English-summer!! LOL Blue skies with a high "roof", sun, brightness, and a glimpse into a warm summer. All good stuff! :-)
What an essay - did you think you were marking homework for a minute?!! ha ha! Thank you for the last 12 months of friendship Wendy - and "cheers" to many more!
Hugs! Vikki xoxo

I'm so glad you posted again about your blogiversary! I missed it earlier somehow - probably when I had to mark all my blogs as read when I had 750+ posts to read a week or so ago! Anyway - Happy Blogiversary - I love reading about your country and what you are up to - I've learned a lot about Australia in the last year!! Hope you have another great year ahead!! What I like about this winter is that I am spending it in Texas for the first time instead of Maine. No more negative degree temperatures, no more snow, and no more heavy coats! Woohoooo!! Take care Wendy and cheers to another year!

I like the foods of winter - soups and casseroles and baking! And I love Le Creuset. I got two pieces recently from CSN and I dearly want more!

Thank you for this lovely giveaway to celebrate your anniversary. My favorite foods in the winter are chili, soups, and dumplings - that my mother makes! She is such a good cook and know that she would love the Le Creuset pots! It is difficult to visualize winter because the temperature today in North Florida was over 90 degrees F. mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com
